- (continued from previous page)week in the summer and twice a week in the winter. We do have about ten pounds of butter in the summer, and about seven pounds from each churning in the winter. We churn on a Wednesday each week.
- There were all classes of churns long ago. There were dash churns and German patent with beaters in side of them. The dash churns were very handy. The churn that I saw the sides of it were round in shape. The lid was round with a hole in the middle and there was one handle on the lid. There was a piece of muslin all round the lid of the churn to keep the butter milk from coming up. The German churns were like a barrell and it used to be(continues on next page)
