- Once upon a time in a tunnel in Ballycumber when strange things were happening, a crock of gold was left with a cat and dog sitting each side of it.No one would interfere with the gold because it was said that a life had to be lost before the gold could be found. One day a priest named Father McGee got some brave men from that place, they tied one of the men to a rope and gave him a lighted candle and they let him down.No sooner was he half way when the candle was blown out of his hand, the dog barked fiercely and as he did flames of fire ascended from his mouth.
