- There is a holy well in Leamonaghan. It is said that one day St. Manchan was very thirsty and he could get no water. He struck a rock with his stick and a spring well bubbled up. There are either three for four crosses in the bottom of it and it is believed that there is a spring in each cross. Nearly every disease is cured at it but the most miraculous ones are cancer and warts. The person to be cured must go there on successive Fridays and he must be there at three o'clock sharp.
