    also they thought he would reduce the sum of money. During the time they were quarrelling, the mason was on the top of the tower. Then the monks went back into their house, and left the ladders on the ground, leaving nothing for him to get down. The man was sitting on the tower thinking what he would do when a prince passed by and seeing the man said "Why are you sitting there?" The man told him that he built the tower and that the monks would not give him any money. The prince said "Is it not easier to knock two than to build one" "That is true," said the mason starting to throw down the stones until he had the top gone off the tower. When the monks saw him they came again, put up the ladder and let down the man. The man got his money and went away.
