  1. (continued from previous page)
unto thee I lift mine eyes
Sign the Cross upon my brow
And my head in worship bow
    Jesus let my mother dear
Keep in me my love and fear
    And my guardian Angel send
To be with me as a friend,
    Mary Mother all the day
Close beside thee let me stay
Keep me pure from sinful stain
    Till the night return again,
So with Jesus for my guide
And with Mary at my side
    And with Holy Angels near
Nought of evil will I fear.
    3. O angel of God to whose Holy care
I am commited by thy supreme care
Enlighten, defend, and protect this night
From all sin and danger for ever. Amen.
The lady with the Branch and Lord with the flowers,
And Jesus be with me at my dying hour
The cross of Christ on my right breast
And the highest in heaven my soul may rest.
