    a high tree, of wool, feathers, clay and sticks. It lays four eggs which are white with black spots.
    The cuckoo comes in May.
    In June she whistles her tune.
    And in July she flies away.
    The cuckoo builds no nest. It lays one egg first and carries it to one of the following bird's nests, hedge sparrow, yellow hammer or water hen. The cuckoo lays six or seven eggs more, and places each one in a different bird's nest.
    The swallow builds in the house eaves of mud. It lays seven eggs which are blue in colour. The swallow comes in April and flies away in September.
    The birds that migrate are the cuckoo and the swallow.
