    As we send milk to the Creamery now, we do not churn very often except in Summer when milk is plentiful. People who do not send milk to the Creamery churn about once a week in Winter and twice or three times in Summer. The woman of the house generally does the churning but anyone who is in the house or anyone who happens to come in during churning always gives a helping hand. A person who is in a house during churning and who does not help is supposed to take the luck of the churning away, and the butter will never come on the cream.
