- The most harmful weed growing on the farm is the "prashia weed' [?]. It both spreads rapidly and poverishes the land.
The thistle grows only where the land is good. Marsh mallow, Blackbuttons and nettles grow only where there land is bad.
Marsh mallow is a cure for rheumatism. It is boiled and strained and then (drinked) drank. - The most harmful weeds growing on our farm are "prashia weed" and "couch grass" and "thistles" and "spunks" and "foxtails". These weeds spread rapidly especially the "prashia weed" because no matter how long the seed of it is in the ground it never decays. The plants looked upon as growing where land is good are "clover" and "shamrock".
The plants found where land is poor are "blackbuttons", "ferns", "rushes" and "rye grass".- Bailitheoir
