about six or seven years old I'd say.
I remember several ships wrecked on the Arklow Banks and the passenger on one of them I remember lined up on the South Quay when they had been rescued by the Arklow Boats and there was no one in the town that could understand a word they were saying as they were all talkin in irish (about 185[?] (This was apparantly an emigrant ship)
The "Irrawaddy" and the "Pamona" was the name of two of the ships wrecked.
The Pamona was lost with 420 lives on the Blackwater Bank. 1859.
