- There was a football team in Laragh a hundred years ago. They used to kick with a hay ball. There was another team in Stradone.
Laragh and Stradone had a challenge match one Sunday. There were twelve men on each time. The were divided up into goalies, center fields, wings backs. Stradone won this game. The score was 2 goals to 1 goal. The best men were Pat Reilly Tom Smith and Tom O Rourke. The often crossed the country and had matches with other teams.
The referee was Tom O Rourke. I heard nothing about hurley matches.- Collector
