  1. There are numerous forts in my district, which are all called by the same name - fort. From the one nearest my home, which is in the townland of Lisduff, seven others can be seen because they are all situated on hills. All these are like each other, being circular in shape, with a fence of earth around each. This fence is covered with trees, and aged old hawthorns, which seemingly have grown there for ages undisturbed.
