  1. There was a poet called Patrick Mc Connarty who lived in the townland of Carten Free in the parish of Mullahoran.
    He made a song called,
    "The widow of Kellys ball",
    He was an Ex soldier in German war and he was called out again to fight and he was shot and buried some where in France. It was in English he made all these songs but he could neither read or write .
    It is said he was young when he died and that he died in the year 1914.
    There was also another poet called Tommy Swiney.
    He made a song called, The rocks
