  1. There was once a simple kind of lad called Jack, who lived with his mother. One day his mother said to him "Jack its time you were thinking of marrying I'll go and make a match for you" So off she set. The marriage was arranged and the mother began to get the feast ready. Jack was sent for a barrel of ale - and white bread. And his mother put on a goose to boil. When Jack came home with the goods she told him to keep an eye to the goose as she wanted to go out. When Jack was left alone he thought he would sample the ale. So he put
