- There was once a simple kind of lad called Jack, who lived with his mother. One day his mother said to him "Jack its time you were thinking of marrying I'll go and make a match for you" So off she set. The marriage was arranged and the mother began to get the feast ready. Jack was sent for a barrel of ale - and white bread. And his mother put on a goose to boil. When Jack came home with the goods she told him to keep an eye to the goose as she wanted to go out.
