“Hughie Gray and his Mare Motor Car”
(1) Come all you gallant sportsmen,
That come in from near and far,
I'll sing for you a verse or two,
In praise of Motor Car.
(2)Motor Car is a six year old,
She never feared the foe,
She far surpassed the nobles,
At the great Oldcastle Show.
(3)They came in from Trim and Navan,
From Moate and Mullingar,
To bring the Cup from Hughie
And his mare called Motor Car
(4)When Motor seen the Strangers,
She to her jockey said,
Hold fast unto your saddle,
And don't be the least afraid.
(5)Hold fast unto your saddle,
For you and I will sup,
A glass of Irish whiskey
We will surely win the cup.(continues on next page)- Informant
