  1. There is an old school in the townland of Enagh in the parish Castleraghan that was built in 1828.
    Mr.William Smyth taught in it. It was an indoor school and it is in good preservation to the present day, it is well built, it is made of stone and has a slated roof, there is one chimney on it.
    There are two rooms in it, a boys' room and a girls' room.
    There is a door at each end of the building. Some of the seats which were in the school are now used in Garryross school. The school was used for twenty years.
    Long ago there was a hedge eschool on Murmud Hill in the townland of Broomfield.
    The teachers were pid according to the way they taught the children.
