- There were three Irish men who went to England one time. They could speak no English. The eldest man went to school on the first day and learned "We three" The second man went on the second day and learned how to say "For want of money" and the youngest man learned "alright".
Then they said they would go into the world to seek their fortunes. As they were going along the road they saw a dead man with a sheet over him. They stood by him until the guards arrived and they asked "Who killed the man?"
"We three" answered the first man.
"For what" asked the guards
"For want of money" answered the second man.
"The you will be hanged" said the guards
and the youngest man answered
"Alright" and they were hanged.- Collector
