    Might have borrowed their chaste brightness from the gleaming of the eye;
    The young lily bending lowly when the dew was in the air
    Was a type of his meek spirit when his young lips moved in prayer.

    And the angel who at sunset bore on pearly bordered wing's
    The libations of his spirit up wards to the King of Kings,
    Whispered in a thrilling whisper to his eager listening ear,
    Dreams of where the nations knew not God, His teachings, love or fear.
