Foxglove is a corruption of ''Folk's Glove'' probably fairy-folk. Its flowers fit like thimbles on the fingers and children love to pull on those handsome white and red blossoms and use the fairies' gloves for themselves. - Rosemary.
So called because it is supposed to resemble sea-spray and really means ''Ros maris'' or sea-dew.
