If I don't mistake I me as well tell you
    We hadn't a make
    We inclined all together
    In our own native town
And soon got in touch with the man
    That carried Mulligan's pound
    (3)
    This wise man from Skeagh
    On to him we dictate
When we moved with a motion
    His good to advise
That we would spend it on Guinness
    To humour the boys
    He went to a pub
Near the end of a town
The bar man his sleeves rolled up
    And his braces let down
    He carried us in porter
Until he closed up that night
And we soon put an end
    To Mulligan's pound.
    (4)

    That came there that night
Not for getting them that come
    To make wrongs all right
But to the old damsel at the end of her days
