    in the earth and it is impossible to pull it. A good strong root of it when dug up will be found to be as strong as the handle of a pen. When perfectly washed it is as white as corn flour, palatable to the taste and supposed to be a wholesome food.

    Rose - Loble (?)
    This is another harmful plant when growing amongst the crops. It has a long white root pretty thick, growing in joints and very brittle. When touched it breaks easily and any of the broken pieces are liable and able to grow in a new plant. It too has medicinal properties and is used with other plants as a cold cure or a cure for bronchitis.

    Couch Grass
    This is last but not least among the harmful weeds. This grows in dry land and impoverishes the soil.
