  1. "Teach your granny to milk the ducks". This is said when a young person is giving advice to an old person.
    "Dogs ears". This is said when the corners of your pages are turned up.
    "A dog's life" This is said when a person has a hard time.
    "A dogs trot" This is said when children are going to school neither running or walking.
    "Oak choke, ash splash" When the oak comes out in leaf before the ash it will be a dry year.
    But if the ash comes out before the oak, there will be a splash of rain.
    A sloe year - a woe year. A haw year a braw year. If there are plenty of sloes it will be a bad year. If there are plenty of haws it will be a good year.
    "I came off with the whip in my teeth". This is said when a person learns no lessons and still answers.
