    On Saint Patricks day the men "drown their shamrock" this means that break the bond of abstaining from all intoxicating drink, and in the afternoon or when they are returning from mass, they usually go to the public house and take a few drinks.
    On St Setphen's day it is a custom for young boys to get a box and to put feathers in it, and with this box they go around collecting pennies to bury the dead wren. As they go about from house to house they sing the following song
    "The wren, the wren she is king of all birds,
    On St Stephens day she is got dead in the furze
    Although she is poor, her
