    On Shrove Tuesday it is a custom to have a feast of pancakes. On Halloweve it is a custom for young men to tie the doors and gates of a neighbour's house and when this is done, to take some farm implement for a joke and hide it so that the neighbour would be minus his weapon for some time.
    On the first of January it is a custom to not throw water out on this day as it was believed that this would take away the luck for the rest of the year.
