  1. Once upon a time a woman called Mrs Gibson from Ashfield Cootehill had men employed sinking a well. When they had it sunk they found bricks at the bottom of it. They went to Mrs Gibson and told her that they had as much bricks as would build an arch. She told them to take the bricks out of the well and they started to build the arch.
That night Mrs Gibson was going someplace after night - fall and she met a small man dressed in red. He told her to leave back the bricks in the exact position that they were found or that if she did not everything would die about the house. She paid no heed to him and built the arch after that she had very bad luck every animal about the house died.
She employed men to pull down the arch and had the bricks put back in the well. After she left back bricks the animals ceased dying.
