    Herbs
Formerly, the people knew herbs which would cure a great many ailments without a doctor's assistance.
For example, the nettle is said to have the cure for pains. I heard of a man who suffered from pains and he rubbed them where the pain was till spots came out and the pain disappeared.
Nettles are used for food for turkeys. It is said that they keep them from taking the "pip".
The dock weed is said to take the sting of the nettle out.
