- (continued from previous page)mainland brothers and sisters ( at least they wish to be as modern-minded ), so I expect that when the next marriage takes place, that instead of having the merry-making wedding of the good old long ago, that the young couple will leave us for a short honeymoon elsewhere, and when they return, it will be only because duty recalls them.
Nóta eile:-A cloak and hat ( or beret ) are worn by the Scattery girls, until they marry. After marriage they wear a shawl on all occasions, except while attending mass. The menfolk, whether married or single, wear clothes similar to those on the mainland.- Collector
