Árd na n-Aingeal is a favourite meeting place for the young men of the island, and both night and day they can be heard up there discussing topics of interest.
The "Blessed Well" is the women's favourite meeting place. After milking time every evening they proceed to the well with their buckets, and they spend such a long time chattering there that they are very often the despair of their poor parents, who sit at home anxiously awaiting the "cup that cheers".
