    out garments on a Thursday because there is one Thursday in every seven years and if clothes are cut out for a person on that day he will die before the year is out. No one knows which Thursday it is and they never cut out clothes on a Thursday.
    Some people say if you buy stuff on St. Swithin's Day and if a drop of rain fell on it, it would never dry. It was considered lucky to purchase on St. Patrick's Day and on St. John's Day.
    Markets were held long ago in this district in many places. There was a pig market held at the cross at St. Flannan's College by the butchers of Ennis.
