- The names of some of the fields around our house are "The Wire Field" "The Black Dog's Hole Field" "The Old Football Field" "The Iron Gate Field".
The Wire Field is so called because there is a wire along one side of it. The Black Dog's Hole Field is so called because there is a hole full of water at one side of it and it is supposed that a priest put a devil out of a man and told it to go into this hole and the devil went into it in the form of a dog. The old football field is so called because football used to be played in it some years ago.
There are streams beside our house and they are called "The Butter-milk Stream" (And the Bridge over it is called "Butter-milk Bridge") "The Fairies Bath", "Maines's Well " Rices Swamp" and Magee's Bog- Collector
