- About a hundred years ago when Michael Welsh lived in Derreenaseer, Ardcarne he dreamt three nights in succesion of a crock of gold which lay buried behind the barn which was at the side of his own dwelling place. He was told in the dream that Jack Welsh, his brother, and John Mattimoe, were to go with him in search of the hidden treasure.
John Mattimoe was to be killed by a black cat which guarded the breasure. On the appointed day the three men went to the spot where the treasure lay hidden.(continues on next page)- Collector
