The people thought that the luckiest time for getting married was from the 6th Jan. to Ash Wednesday. The unlucky months for marriage are May and October and the unlucky days Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. The people believe that Shrove is the best time for getting married. Before the marriage is celebrated some friends make the match. Money is given as dowry and the bride brings whatever clothes belongs to her.
