  1. Long ago in the Penial times Mass was read at Crossna in the townland of Cartiron. The priest used to stay in some sheltry place or in a neighbouring house in order that they would not be seen. Sometimes they used to have homeless children with them to bring them food.
    Once upon a time at the back of Arigna Mountain there was a priest reading Mass, when a band of soldiers came riding across the mountain on horses. Most of the congregation fled but the priest and clerk remained on the alter and the priest beseeched of the invaders to
