- Clothes Continued.When there is a bereaveament in a family the immediate relatives wear black. The women wear black dresses and the men wear a band of crepe on their left arm, and also a black tie and black hat.
- Local Sayings About Clothes.(1) "Dress is everything," which means that a well dressed person always receives respect.(2) "A man's shirt and collar speak for themselves," which means that if a man has not a clean collar on, it shows that his women folk at home are dirty.(3) "The shirt he has will do him." meaning that a person is in such poor health that it is only a matter of a few days until he dies.
