  1. Long ago two witches lived in Rhynagonnaught at the back of Tommie McGraths house (Thady's) and they were known to be very wicked.
    The unfortunate travellers who fell into their hands always met with terrible deaths.
    At that time there were no roads but horse tracks and the remains of these can be traced today. We can trace one along the back of the Doughmore Sandhills crossing the Skivellien river at the mouth and running parallel with the sea and again crossing at the mouth of the Dúnbeg river continuing thro' Dúnmore and on to the far West.
    It was along this road a travelling man was making
