- (continued from previous page)down side Theresa Downeses house. Them people died alas the time of the famine and the ruins of a few of them are still to be seen. There were a few houses back off Downeses cross. Haughs and O Deas that lived there. They died the time of the famine.
Down in Monmore there were one old house very far in from the road. I dont know who lived there but they got evicted and died with the hunger. The ruins of that old house are still to be seen there. - This woman travelled from Belfast to Doonbeg before she got hospitality to keep her. The people around knew she came from Belfast so they called her Mary Belfast then to - her house(continues on next page)
