    wood called a boorhaun is at one end of it and a loop at the other end. Very few spancels are mode in this manner nowadays. When people are milking the cows they sometimes sing or talk to them as they yield more milk when they think their milkers are kind to them. Their beds are cleaned every day and a new sop put under them. The cows are generally named after the place from which they come such as: Burgess and Ballinderry. They are also named by their colours or breeds such as: Polly, Bess, Rasberry, Old Strawberry, New Strawberry, New Jersey, Hereford, Chance.
