- Football was very common long ago and to-day it is the only pastime that the boys and men have for enjoying Sunday. The farthest back game that my father remembers was played about thirty five years ago between Donaghmoyne and Inniskeen, the Fontenoys and the Rovers. It took place in a field in Annahia which belonged to John Martin. Paddy Markey was captain of the Donaghmoyne team and Barney Finegan was captain of the Inniskeen team. The players in the Donaghmoyne team were Pete Martin, Packy Mac Cabe,(continues on next page)
