    informant the Cootes of Cootehill, The Maxwells of Cavan, The Hamiltons, Achesons and others came at that time. A battle was fought in the townland of Fihora about two miles from Arva between the Hamiltons and the McKennas on land now owned by a man named "Butsey" Reilly. The result of the battle is not known.
    A family named Hamilton now resides at Castlehamilton near Killeshandra, but I have been told they are not descendants of the original Hamiltons, who were planted on those lands.
