- About five miles from Clooney Church there lived a very strong man, whose name was Michael Cusack.
He was nick-named Fionn Mac Cumhaill on account of his famous strength.
One day he made a bet with his companion that he could break an iron bar. He put it across his knee and smashed it. He was 6 feet 3 ins. in height. He drove a horse nail into an oak tree and pulled it out with his teeth. There was another man named Roche living near Duin, who jumped across a river 24 ft. wide.
