  1. Among the Irish a lot of stories were told about Our Lord, The Blessed Virgin, and St. Joseph. One story is told about Our Lord when He was betrayed by the Jews. He went into a house and there was a sow inside. Our Lord lay down and the sow covered him with straw so that the Jews would not see him. A hen came in and she began to scrape the straw, until she had Him nearly exposed to the Jews. Our Lord blessed the sow and she never had any pain or trouble having a litter, but a hen
