    202 Cures
    for a cure for whooping cough. Do with the child whatever the man says.
    Sting of a wasp.
    Rub with the blue bag.
    Burns.
    (1) Apply bread soda.
    (2) Allow the heat of the fire on
    burn.
    (3) Place on burn the white skin
    found lining an egg-shell.
    (4) Apply paste made of saliva and
    household soap.
    Boils.
    (1) Put a poultice of soap and sugar on the boil.
    (2) Put hot water in a bottle. Hold boil over neck of bottle. The boil will burst into the bottle.
    Sty on eye-lid.
    Rub a gold ring to it or wash in cold black tea.
    Chilblains.
    (1) Wash with meat pickle.
    (2) If broken make an ointment with laurel leaves and fresh lard and apply on lint.
