  1. St. Stephen's Day comes on the 26th of December. On that day it was an old custom for the young boys to dress up in old clothes and go from house to house gathering money. They make false faces in order that the people would not know them. They also get a piccolo and small sticks and as they enter the houses, they say a rhyme such as this "The wren, the wren the king of all birds.
