    A summit at our command
    A rich and smiling prospect
    As any in the land
    It over looks the Curries
    Cursiff and Thangnabo
    I'll ever recollect of it
    No matter where I go.

    And there are men in other lands
    who recollect it still
    The fort big hedge and dance pit
    That top the very hill
    I know that when I see those men
    Their hearts will nearly break
    They'll shed some tears for boyhood years
    On the banks of Balla Lake.
