XII. How the immaculate virgin led them to the divine child.
No creature ever relieves any grace from god save though the hands of his own pious mother. -st Bernadine of Siena.
If I love the B.U.M. I am sure of salvation. St. John Berchmans
We stood awhile intent upon the scene, feeling quite sure we were in presence of a blending of dull earth and heaven serene. Amon we see the beauteous maiden move, and coming towards us, with a queen-like mien, she greets us, with a smile of bashful love. So soft, so delicate, so sweet she came, a lustrous welcome glistening in her eyes, that she at once did veneration claim. Smiling from joy, and blushing from surprise, her dove-like eye and damask cheek aflame, she leads us into where the infant lies. And we would thank, that whose seeks that child must always seek him thru’ his mother mild.
