- There was a fellow coming home from a card school wan time, 'twas late in the night, and he met the devil, and he attacked him to play cards with him. The lad thought 'twas some gentleman was after coming about the place and he sat down to play with him.
The lad won the first few games just to encourage him, and then the devil wed (weeded) him out. When he had no more money they played for himself and the devil won him. He was to go away with him in twelve months from that night. I don't know how it finished up. But I think the lad went to the priest and he banished him.
- There was another big mansion near this place and the devil was banished out of it and while a protestant lived in it the hole couldn't be stopped.
