    There was a black thorn bush growing in our field, and it was cut down. The next day there was a big hole dug around where the bush was growing, and it was said it was the fairies that dug it.
    A man who lived near Kilamine, caught a leprechaun one morning, as he heard it was very lucky to have a leprechaun. He put him into a box, and gave him food every day. He has him twenty one years, and every seventh year, the leprechaun used to laugh. The man got very anxious to know why he used to laugh and he said he would kill him if he would not tell him. At last he told him. He said I laughed the first time because all your potatoes got black, and the third time because all your money was stolen, and he soon found out it was true. When the man was going he forgot to close the lid on the leprechaun so he escaped. It is not right to catch a leprechaun, as the other fairies would harm your property.
    The banshee is still believed in. It is heard by many people even now-a-days a lot of people get the Fóidin Mearaidhe, when
