    to get married after 12 o clock shrove Tuesday night. People used to throw on any person that was not married that was old enough so they would not get old.
    Any one who went on water Whit Sunday was supposed to get drowned. It is said that if you wash your face in the dew May day you would not get sun burnt for the year. Hallow-een was one of the best feasts they had. They used to make a cake and put a ring, a thimble and a half-penny in it. They always left a bit on the wall for the pookas. They used to hang an apple
