- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)use them yet. Spades are not made locally. They are made in Founderies and sent to the shops and sold to the farmers.
The potatoes for sowing are selected with great care. They are cut into splits and are left for a week or two before they are put into the ground.
The local people help each other in sowing the potato crop. The potatoes are manured with farmyard manure and Guana. Then the manure is covered over with clay and left still until the stalks are over the ground. Then they are moulded and in a short time they are sprayed and kept sprayed all summer and harvest.- Bailitheoir
