ago and the people used to go from house to house buying stock. There were fairs held in places where there are no fairs held now. An end was put to them because there were no cattle. There is toll paid on every beast sold. On every animal a luck's penny is paid. They give a shilling for luck's penny. When the bargain is made they give the money. The cattle are marked with paint. The biggest fair in this part is in Milford.
