- Long ago in the penal times when mass had to said out among the rocks and in the hills.There was a mass rock near Killygordan on the left side of the river. People had to cross the river if were living on the other side. There was no bridge but and two men with had a plank and if you wanted to get across you had twopence. An old woman came one day and she had not the twopence and the two men sent her away. She sat down on the river bank and took of her shoes. She waded the river untill she reached the side. After mass she did the same same thing.
